The Chief, who made the appeal during the Bongo District Assembly?s Meet the Press, said considering the declining standards of education in the area, there was the need to establish the college to train more teachers.
He said the Traditional Council and the people of Bongo were ready to give land for the project because one of the major problems that accounted for the fallen standards of education in the area was lack of professional teachers.

Naba Baba Salifu Aleemyarum said another factor which made the area to deserve a teacher training college was that it had about seven senior high schools, three of them being government owned and the rest community owned and the products of these schools and eighbouring schools could feed the training college.
He said his outfit, in collaboration with the District Assembly, had procured a parcel of land for the District Hospital project and appealed to the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service to fulfill its promise of supporting to build the District hospital in the area.
The District Chief Executive for the area, Mr Alexis Ayamdor, said the training college would not only benefit the Bongo area but also the entire Region.
