Bola Ray presents items to the SOS village in Tema

ray?We are not doing this for any human, we are doing it to the glory of God? were the exact words of ace radio icon, Bola Ray when he presented several items worth GHC10,000 to the children of theS OS Village in Tema.

Last Saturday, the children of the SOS Village had a lot to cheer about; a lot to eat, a lot to drink and a lot of merry making. After officials from the Village received the donation from Empire Entertainment under the tutelage of Bola Ray, his friends and St. Anthony?s School, the children were treated to the very best of music from musicians signed on Empire Entertainment?s label.

Hit makers Double, Dr Slim of ?S3k3? fame, Guru of ?Lapaz Toyota? fame, and Asantewaa, a new entrant to the Empire label entertained the children amidst ?azonto? competition.

Watching from afar, it was just beautiful as the children tried to undo each in the unofficial ?azonto? completion. Even though there was no prizes for them, the look on their faces meant they appreciated the moment and love shown them.

Aside the donation, the high point for the children was the manner in which, comedian Funny Face who most of the children referred to as ?Chorkor Trotro? also the name of the hit TV series on TV3 mesmerised them with his dancing abilities. He dashed GHC50.00 each to the four children who challenged him as Guru performed.

Known as Uncle George of ?Kyekyekule? fame, George Laing represented the St. Anthony?s School. He promised that the school will sponsor the education of some of the students soon.

He also said that, the children in the Village and his pupils will come together to take part in various activities.

As Ambassador of the Village, Bola Ray said he?s working on raising GHC50,000 for the Village by the end of December 2013. He also donated a GHC5,000, part of which was raised through his friends.

Other donations included 20 mobile phones from rLG to be given to the mothers in the Village. LCD television, food items such as bags of rice, bags of sugar, bags of gari, Indomie, toilet rolls, biscuits, drinks, milk, toffee, clothes, bottled water and many others.

Winner of Miss Malaika 2006, Hamamat Montia cut the birthday cake of her daughter before the donation.

Other personalities who assisted the donation were the Bannerman-Quist family, Loretta Ayettey, some co-workers of Bola Ray?s wife, Dorcas Anokye-Adisi, Funny Face, DJ Mensah, Chemphe, Korsah-Brown, Kwaku Obeng and staff of Empire Entertainment.
