The Chairman of the Professional League Board, Welbeck Abra-Appiah, has laid all blames regarding the wrong league table released by the official site of the Ghana Football Association, Ghanafa.org, at the doors of the FA Media Committee.

Following the completion of the First Capital Plus Premier League last Wednesday, the FA?s site released a table which had Sekondi Hasaacas as the highest scoring team of 41 goals instead of 31. Even with that, Kotoko was the rightful highest scoring team with 36 goals, an error which has received a deluge of criticism.

With the PLB widely known as the organizers of the league, many have blamed Abra-Appiah and his charges for the mix-up.

However, speaking to 103.5 FM, the PLB Boss vehemently denied any hand in the faulty league table released asking that questions be demanded from the Media Committee instead.

?The PLB is not on his own but works among a whole lot of other committees,? he told the Accra-based station.

?We?re not in charge of the media responsibilities. We have clear cut duties and responsibilities and I sometimes say this or that question should be addressed to somebody else. If all of us are to be in our lane and do as expected, when there are such issues involving mistakes, they should be addressed to the right quarters.

?PLB doesn?t have the means of getting onto the net to put out information for the public. In could be a typographical mistake. Sometimes when matches are played and the results come in, we would have wished that the information is passed on instantly but it?s not for us to make that kind of decision. We all know who is responsible for information on the website.

?We give the information and sometimes, it may not appear for some days. Yes, the PLB can be accused when it comes to some of these but the issue is that we must all do our work appropriately. We might have given them the figures ? 31 ? and through whatever means, it could have gone to 41. We might have also made a mistake.?

Abra-Appiah went on to further give reasons why the PLB should be insulated from all blames regarding the unfortunate mix-up.

He said: ?Some three, four years ago, PLB had to be responsible for everything in connection with the league until committees sprang up from all over. It?s not everything that PLB had to do four years ago that we?re doing now.?

He, however, assured that the PLB would soon come out with its authentic league table.

?We have a meeting and we?ll come out with the authentic table concerning all matches, facts and figures relating to last season. If the mistake comes from the PLB, they should pardon us,? he pleaded.
