Black Starlets desperate for a win to save U17 African campaign

Ex Ghana FA boss Ben Koufie wants the Black Starlets to go all out for a win against Congo on Wednesday.

Ghana is in desperate need of a win to save their campaign at the African Junior Championships following a heavy opening defeat to Nigeria.

The Black Starlets were thrashed 6-1 by the Golden Eaglets last Sunday.

The team must now pick themselves from that heavy defeat to get a result against the Congolese on Wednesday else face an early exit.

And ex GFA boss Koufie has told the Black Starlets to put the heavy defeat to Nigeria well behind them in order for them to give off their best for the vital win against Congo.

?They will have to forget the 6-1 defeat and go all out for a win,? he said.

?They should not be dispirited over this defeat because they have also won heavy before the competition.

?This is football and anything can happen so they should be focused on the game ahead.?

A defeat for Ghana against Congo means the Black Starlets will crash out of the tournament being staged in Morocco at just the first round stage.

It will also see Ghana fail to qualify for the U17 World Cup later this year in the UAE.
