Big Companies Chase Asantehene Golf

CORPORATE institutions in the country, including telecommunication giants MTN, have accepted to sponsor this year’s annual Asantehene’s Gold Cup Golf Tournament which tees off this Saturday in Kumasi.

MTN, which is the title sponsor for the tournament this year, has been sponsoring the tournament which is played annually in honour of the occupant of the Golden Stool for three straight years now.

Reports gathered by DAILY GUIDE SPORTS indicated that leading companies in the country had been bombarding the event organizers with telephone calls just to be part of the greatest golf tournament in the northern part of the country.

Other leading companies in the country that are proud to throw their weight behind the tournament this year include Goldfields Ghana, the Sterling Projects Group, Vanguard Assurance, DDP Outdoor, Biege Village and Voltic Ghana.

Golden Tulip Kumasi City, Red Bull energy drink, Latest Foam, Fly540, a fast growing domestic airline, Huawei, and Vlisco which is billed to organize a special fashion show on Saturday as parts of this year’s event, are the other sponsors.

The Asantehene Gold Cup Golf Tournament usually attracts the crème de la crème of golfers from the country and abroad who compete for top honours.

The tournament has mouthwatering prizes including huge cash and giant trophies at stake which, at the end of the competition, will be handed to players that excel on the day, by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II himself.
