2 March 2015. BBC World Service is spearheading a global digital conference on Ebola, ?Getting to zero and rebuilding for the future?. On Tuesday 3 March 2015, the one-day event will create an international forum across platforms for audiences ? especially those in affected areas ? to discuss the continuing outbreak and to ask questions directly to the decision-makers leading the fight against Ebola.

BBC Africa Digital Editor, Miriam Quansah, says: ?From the outset, BBC World Service saw the current Ebola outbreak as our biggest health focus. Along with reporting it as a global, regional and local story, we have also delivered ?lifeline? services in English and French, using any available platform to inform people about the disease and the ways to protect themselves and their communities. With this digital conference, we want to reinforce the global Ebola conversation, to take stock of where we all stand and what?s next.?

?Getting to zero and rebuilding for the future? will offer live debates throughout the day across BBC?s social-media platforms. On Twitter, the conversations with the hashtag #BBCEbola will be in English on BBC Africa @bbcafrica and the international news channel, BBC World News @BBCWorld; and in French on BBC Afrique @bbcafrique.

The BBC Ebola Community, BBC World News and BBC Afrique pages on Facebook will host conversations:

Beating Ebola, rebuilding life (08.00-11.30 GMT) ? live Q&A sessions with guests including David Nabarro, Senior UN system Senior Coordinator for the response to Ebola Virus Disease, and Helen Clarke, UNDP Administrator.

Tackling Ebola on the ground (14.00-17.30) ? live Q&A session with government officials from the countries most affected by the epidemic; moderated by the BBC?s Jonathan Paye-Layleh in Liberia, Al Hassan Sillah in Guinea and Umaru Fofana in Sierra Leone.

On BBC?s Whatsapp Ebola service, subscribers have been invited to send in their questions for the Facebook Q&As. Some of the responses will be shared on the chat app service on the day.

On Google Hangout (17.00-17.30), the BBC?s Nick Ericsson will lead the discussion, Ebola: what lessons have we learned? with the participation of David Miliband, President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee. The conversation will focus on the international response to the Ebola epidemic and the importance of individual and group efforts, and ask what more the international community could have done ? and what it still needs to do.
