The districts are the Bawku West and Nabdam.

The Deputy Minister was accompanied by District Chief Executives for the two districts, Mr Simon Ayande Agbango and Mrs Vivian Anafo.

The Bawku West District has named some of the streets after prominent and famous sons and daughters of the area.

Some of them are Akaaba, Asumda, Akparibilla Market, Ayimam-Gbang and Ayali Bugid.
The Deputy Minister expressed optimism in efforts being made by the district in connection with the exercise and said it was time to develop basic universal directional signs as a country as part of the development drive.
Mr Syme said the exercise would make it possible for people to easily identify locations and properties, which would invariably open up the district to investors.
The Bawku West District Chief Executive said the streets were named after some past prominent people including chiefs and others who had contributed to the development of the district.
He said the exercise would provide data to improve on revenue collection and provide a platform to facilitate other government businesses.
Mr Agbango said the street names would ensure quicker responses to emergency service providers such as the Ghana National Fire Service and the National Ambulance Service.
In the Nabdam District, some of the street names there included DC ZORE, the first District Commissioner and Naab Yelzoya the first chief of the town.
Mrs Vivian Anafo, commended government for giving the area a district status and said the assembly was committed to ensuring that the livelihood of the people in the area was improved.
