Barefoot Power: Donates To East Legon Police Station

As part of its intervention to help respond to the power crisis which is confronting the country, Barefoot Power Company-Ghana has donated solar lighting systems worth Gh?5,000.00 to the East Legon Police Station in Accra.?The items donated include: 30 lights with five different batteries, 5 different Pannels, Security lamps and Mobile Phone charging kits.
IMG_20150315_222524Presenting the items, the Manager of Barefoot Power- West Africa, Mr. Kwasi Owusi Gyeabour, noted that the donation forms part of their social corporate responsibility.
This he said, prior to their visit to the police station they observed that the police were operating in darkness as the result of the frequent power outage.
“As a company living in the same vicinity with them we decided to come to their aid so that they can enhance their service delivery in the country.
The Chief Executive Officer of Barefoot(Africa)Ltd Mr. Jackson Machuhi, said as manufacturers and distributors of solar lightening systems, their focus is to ensure that communities that do not have access to electricity are being given different alternatives by introducing them to solar lightening systems. Barefoot Power is a global, social for-profit enterprise that
manufactures and distributes solar lighting and Phone Charging
products and business development services to people at the
base of the global economic pyramid .

Receiving the items on behalf of the Police Station, the Legon District Commander DSP Emmanuel Basintale, expressed profound gratitude to the Barefoot Company for their kind gesture.
This he said, would go a long way to assist them perform even when there is a black-out. “We actually spend a lot on fuel to power our generator. This donation will help us cut down the cost on fuel” he added. He assured that the items donated would be used judiciously in order to achieve the desired goal expected.
He also entreated other agencies to emulate the kind gesture taken by Barefoot Company in order to help bring quality service to the door step of Ghanaians.
