B-BOVID completes ICT centre for farmers

The Building Business on Values, Integrity and Dignity (B-BOVID} Limited, an integrated organic and biodiversity farming company, has built a multi-purpose information, Communication and Technology Centre at Mpohor in the Western Region.

bekker-farmers-first-harvest11-1024x767The centre is to educate farmers on modern trends in farming and provide practical education on animal husbandry, aquaculture and organic farming techniques to enable the farmers to produce high quality produce for local and international markets.

Mr. Issa Ouedreogo, Chief Executive of B-BOVID, who is a United Nations (UN) Award Winner, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview on his farm at Mpohor that the company planned to make agriculture more attractive to the youth to enable them enhance their living conditions.

Already, the company has entered into profit-sharing agreement with some palm and vegetable out growers, he said.

Mr. Ouedreogo said a percentage of revenue realized from the sale of the produce is given to the farmers at the end of every financial year adding, ?B-BOVID also provides rural farmers with sustainable markets for their produce?.

He said Ghana has good climate and so it must not experience food scarcity.

He called on the government and stakeholders to make agriculture more attractive to young people.
