The president, John Dramani Mahama has been advised to as a matter of concern begin to appoint people with the requisite expertise to work in the various ministerial positions, and not young and fresh graduates from the Universities who have no knowledge in governance to occupy such positions because of their political affiliations.

According to the minister in charge of the Agona Swedru branch of the Damascus Christian Ministry Int. Apostle Paul Gyasi Acheampong who gave the advice in an interview with The Moment, it is hightime the president begin to appoint people from other political divides who have the requisite expertise and ability to work into his government.

He noted that when this is done, it will help ensure better administration to help turn the economic woes of the country round for the benefit of the ordinary Ghanaian.

Apostle Gyasi Acheampong?s comment follows the recent reshuffle by the president and in reaction to the high standard of living in the country, as well as the drastic fall of the Cedi to other currencies.

He blamed the situation on bad economic policies instituted by the government, and the chronic the inefficiency exhibited by some of its ministers.

He expressed dismay how someone who has just completed University with no in-depth knowledge could be appointed to hold a ministerial position.

?How can such a person negotiate with professors and other professionals when they embark or threaten strike action? Won?t he only give vain political promises that cannot be fulfilled just to please his master? No wonder the country continues to face series of strike actions by teachers, lecturers and labour unions? he asked. that education could negotiate on behalf of the government with striking lecturers who are professors.

He further noted that under no circumstance can such a minister bring out any concrete solution to help solve the problem confronting the nation.

He said until successive government begin to do away with the practice of the winner takes all type of politics, politicians will continue to play the blame game, which he said only turns to affect the ordinary masses.

He again condemned the consistent borrowing from the Western world by African Heads of States in the name of donor partners in spite of the abundance of both natural and human resources on the continent, and blamed the situation on lack of vision on the part of African leaders to manage their own God-giving resources to better the lot of their people.

He pointed out that these loans and grants from these so-called development partners with their associated conditionality, coupled with the greedy and selfish nature of majority of African leaders are major contributory factors to the continents level of poverty.

He also blamed the African electorates of putting too much hope and trust in politicians, who he said promise heaven when they need power, but ignore the very people who voted them into power to their fate after getting the power.
