The Marseille midfielder was spotted fussily splashing water on the floor as a sign of outburst when he was uncharacteristically substituted in the 63rd minute of the game.
However, the drama of the evening ensued between Andre Ayew and coach Kwesi Appiah in the 84th when the midfielder was caught seemingly issuing instructions to the head coach on the sidelines, a situation which forced the fourth official to caution the player.
Coach Kwesi Appiah had decided to brought on Abdul Majeed Waris but quickly had to rescind his decision as soon as Christian Atsu had equalized in the 84th minute. Appiah’s substitution equation then changed from Waris to Solomon Asante.
But surprisingly enough, Solomon Asante’s change could also not see the light of the day as Coach Appiah finally had to bet his substitution coin on Mubarak Wakaso.
Ghana came from a goal down to beat Togo by 3-2 with goals from Asamoah Gyan, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu and Christian Atsu.
