The Ghana government has indicated to allocate some proceeds retrieved from corruption to state agencies dealing with the act.

This follows President John Mahama?s directive and its part of government?s initiative to fight corruption in all its forms.

President Mahama directed that a percentage of corruption proceeds when recovered should be ?paid to anti-corruption agencies instrumental in exposing such acts?, Seth Terkper, Finance Minister said November 19, 2013 during the 2014 Budget presentation in Parliament.

This is expected to strengthen their resource base.

According to the Minister, an additional budget provisions have been made to strengthen anti-corruption agencies in the country, notably the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).

The Mahama-led government says it believes the ?key to resolving the corruption problem is strengthening our capacity to prevent, and where it has already happened, detect, investigate, retrieve and successfully prosecute the perpetrators?.
