AMA Releases Share Of Common Fund To Physically Challenged

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has released over GH?190,000.00 to the Physically Challenged as part of the District Assembly Common Fund Commitment of 2% to people with Physical disabilities.

This exercise according to the AMA Boss Mr. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuiye was to assist beneficiaries establish themselves in areas of their businesses.

According to him, government is committed to ensuring that the physically challenged are taken maximum care of under the Better Ghana Agenda and hence its commitment to ensuring that their share of the Common Fund is accessed on time.

Mr. Vanderpuije also averred that the disbursement of the fund is done quarterly to enable beneficiaries have good livelihoods.

He advised them to put their share of the fund into productive ventures, hoping the situation where the physically challenged have to beg for alms to make a living will soon be a thing of the past when the share of the Common Fund is disbursed equitably to meet their needs.

The beneficiaries also thanked the Assembly for the gesture and promised to do positively with their share.
