The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Chocho Industries, Alhaji Mustapha Oti Boateng aka Alhaji Chocho has feted inmates of  Koforidua Prisons and donated Chocho skin care products to them.
The items and the meals cost GHC30,000.00.

Alhaji Chocho, who is also the Eastern Regional President of the Hamadiya Muslim Movement, said the donation was in line with the tenets of the Holy Quran, which mandates Muslims to help the poor and needy.
He said he was obligated to fete the inmates to mark Eid ul Fitr.

?Allah said do good to all manner of people; if all Muslims would understand this, Israel and Gaza would not have been in turmoil by now. Islam is a peaceful religion.?

If I had the power, he would have asked all the prisoners to go home because looking at your faces none of you looks like a criminal.?

He urged the 709 inmates of the Koforidua Prisons to be of good behavior since they would not be in prison forever.

?Be careful and know that the world is like a magnet. You attract wisdom if you befriend wise people and you are filled with foolishness if you walk with the unwise. Some of you are here because of bad company.?

Alhaji Chocho told the gathering that prison life was just a gist of what humanity would experience on the judgement day if they failed to go according to the tenets of God.

He said they should see the prison as training grounds.

?Subject yourselves to good counsel and training so that when you come out, you would join us to build the nation Ghana,? Alhaji Chocho said.
The Regional Minister, Antwi Boasiako Sekyere lauded the efforts of Alhaji Mustapha Boateng for feeding the prisoners.

He recounted his experiences at the ?Her Majesty Prisons Forest Bank? where he worked for some time in Manchester, UK.

He said he gathered that most ex-convicts return in no time to prisons because they are rejected by their families and sometimes had nowhere to go.
He urged relatives to support the inmates when they were freed.
The regional minister averred that most of the drug peddlers could become good marketing personnel in legitimate industries, stressing that if they could find customers for an illegal trade what can?t they do when in legal trade.
?I want those who are not here (the relatives) to receive you when you are outside and integrate you into the family so that you will be happy outside the prisons,? he noted.

Assistant Controller of Prisons, Samuel Cobbina Otabil, in charge of the Koforidua Prisons, reiterated the need for relatives to accept and integrate ex-convicts into the society.

He said the ex-convicts would be able to stay away from crime.

He expressed appreciation to  Alhaji Chocho and pleaded with other philanthropic individuals and groups to come to the aid of the Ghana Prisons Service.

Leader of the cells, Peter Latiff, who thanked the guests, appealed to government to help rehabilitate the prisons? yard, stressing they have only 18 bathrooms and toilets serving the over 700 inmates out of which six had broken down.

The Regional Minister and his deputy Mavis Ama Frimpong promised to donate 30 bags of cement and six trips of sand.

Oyokohene Nana Kodua Kesse pledged to offer 20 bags of cement while Alhaji Chocho promised to offer 20 bags of cement.
