Naadu Mills With The Late President Mill's Award

According to Dr Naadu Mills, when they do that, Jesus will give meaning and direction to their lives through His word and will make them better people.

?It will make them be at peace with God, be at peace with themselves and other people,?Dr Naadu Mills added.

Dr Naadu Mills was addressing students of the Yaa Asantewaa Senior High School in Kumasi, over the weekend, when she distributed bibles to them.

According to Dr Naadu Mills, ?a Christian can be brave in times of trouble because of what he knows about God?s sovereign providence. He can pray for forgiveness because of what he knows of God?s love and mercy. He tries to be a better person because of what he knows of God?s holiness.

?He is moved to worship because of what he knows of God?s majesty. He evangelises because of what he knows of God?s salvation for the world. All Christian experience is rooted in our knowledge of God.?

Dr Naadu Mills reiterated the need for peace in the world, and particularly Ghana, and encouraged the students to strive to be instruments of peace wherever they found themselves.

The former First Lady said she was so passionate about the project because it would help develop better future leaders for Ghana.

She said the conviction of the Bible being the most useful in all matters of life motivated her to embark on the Project.

The project practically took off in 2009 when she was accompanied by Mr Jude Hama, the immediate past CEO of the Scripture Union, Ghana, to visit the Tyndale House Publishers headquarters in Wheaton, West Chicago in the USA. Tyndale House Publishers are the largest non-profit publishers of the Bible and Christian Literature in the world.

A request she made to the Directors of Tyndale Publishers to assist her to provide bibles for high school students in Ghana saw the project materialise.

Dr Naadu Mills thanked Dr Mark Taylor, President and CEO of Tyndale Publishers, for taking her request for bibles seriously and working on the project with his team. (Daily Graphic)
