At a durbar of chiefs and elders of  Odeneho Akoto III, the Omanhene  said it was time Akwamuman took its rightful place in the league of prominent states in Ghana.

Akwamuman was once a prominent state with territories covering most of the southern part of present day Ghana and with many Akans tracing their roots to Akwamu.

The area is noted for its rich cultural and tourist?s heritage including the oldest archaeological sites, the Akosombo Dam, Adomi Bridge and a number of islands.

Odeneho Akoto who was enthroned in February 2011 is seeking to rekindle the historic, cultural, political and spiritual bondage of the State with its kith and kin dotted around Ghana and in the Diaspora.
