Airtel, Verifone Launch More Smartest Way Of Payment, ?SMART WAY TO PAY?

Airtel Ghana has entered into another customer-oriented partnership with Verifone Moble Money in adding more to the Mobile Money space by introducing a more convenient and smartest way of paying for goods and services at some supermarkets across the country.

The new introduction is based on a near field communication (NFC) technology enabling easier and faster way for Airtel Money subscribers and registered customers to pay for their goods and services in a convenient, instant and secured manner.
Already, Airtel Ghana, through its mobile money service has put in place structures including 11,000 registered agents, 500 merchant outlets, 80 shops that accept Airtel Money, 7 Partner banks and over 215 ATMs nationwide to support customers enjoy a seamless experience.
Speaking to Manu Rajan, Marketing Manager at Airtel Ghana, at the launch of the service at Koala Shopping, Airport-Accra, Mall he pointed out that the partnership with Verifone Mobile Money and the subsequent introduction of the Airtel ?Smart Way To Pay? service, which is also known as ‘Tap and Go’ across Airtel Merchants and point of sale outlets will provide both merchants and customers a wonderful payment experience when making payments at sales points.
The service is also being rolled out in KFC Shops.
Manu Rajan told spyghana.com that, Airtel by the introduction of the ?Smart Way To Pay? service is celebrating their successful partnership with a global brand, Verifone Mobile Money in which the telecommunication company, is raising the bar in the mobile money space base on the near field communications technology.
He also indicated that, Airtel Ghana is ensuring that its vision of meeting customers? needs is achieved through the realization of a cashless economy.

On her part, Jennifer Theuri, Senior Account Director for Verifone Mobile Money expressed satisfaction with the relationship her company is having with Airtel which eventually led to the partnership

According to her, Verifone Mobile Money, headquartered in Newzealand, is a global leader in Mobile money area and as a company, they are resolved to create solutions for mobile operators in terms of payment services and that considering the progress Airtel has made over the years as far as Mobile Money and meeting a cashless society is concern, Verifone’s partnership with Airtel is the best for both the two companies and customers as well.

She advised customers to join the Airtel network and the bigger Mobile Money family so as to enjoy the seamless services the telecommunication company is offering.

HOW DOES THE ?SMART WAY TO PAY? WORKS

Doing the demonstration, it was explained that what the customer has to do is to have access to a contactless tap at the NFC device with their mobile phone to effect payment through their mobile money wallet.
Customers without the NFC enabled devices will receive a free sticker that will enable them enjoy the wonderful service being introduced by Airtel Ghana, and will be available at all Airtel customer touch points.
