The Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG), a pressure group in Ghana, has announced a planned demonstration next week to protest what it describes as ?enormous corruption perpetuated and supervised by the government?.
The one-day street protest scheduled for November 6 in Accra is premised on corruption and economic hardship, Ayew Afriyie, leader of the group, said at a news conference here on Tuesday.

Citing recent scandals to buttress his message, Ayew said corruption had become more of the norm than exception, adding that no week passed without another act of corruption under the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) regime being exposed.

He said this well-organized and despicable crime against the good people of this country had dwindled the economic fortunes of the state and virtually every household in Ghana.

?Fellow Ghanaians, we need to rise up and stand for our right. The economic mess is debilitating,? he said.
?No consistent supply of electricity and water yet we pay ever increasing tariffs on utilities. World market price of oil is on the decline yet we are paying high prices for petrol and its related products. Cost of living is so high. The home we have is now a hell to live in. Mr. President, Ghanaians are maiming.”
The pressure group called on Ghanaians, civil societies alike, public advocates, political parties and trade unions to join its demonstration ?to show to the world the level of economic hardship corruption has plunged Ghanaians into?.

?Come demonstrate to save Ghana on Thursday 6th of November,? the group pointed out.
