110 vulnerable children receive educational support

One hundred and ten( 110) vulnerable children today received educational support materials from the Wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs.Josephine Elechi to further their education.
Mrs.Elechi stated this at Government House Abakaliki during the distribution of the Educational Suppport to 0rphans.
She said that her support program is done under her pet project, called the Mother and Child Care Initiative(MCCI)which aims at enhancing the well being of women and children as well as other vulnerable members of the society.
According to her, the educational programme covers the areas of instructional materials like exercise books,text books,school uniforms,sandals,sitting forms,school bags,cash and other items for the effective learning of   the children  in their various schools.
She explained that  her programme commenced in the 2008/2009 academic session with eight( 8)undergraduates,twenty five(25)primary and twenty five(25) secondary school beneficiaries,with the same number of beneficiaries recorded in the 2009/2010 academic session.
She said in 2010/2011academic session,the number of beneficiaries was thirty three(33) undergraduates,forty eighty(48)secondary school and seventy two(72)primary school categories with the same number of beneficiaries recorded in the 2012/2013 academic session.
In the 2013/2013 academic session,the Wife of the Governor,Mrs.Josephine said thirty three(33) under graduates received their entitlements while 120 primary and secondary students benefited.
She seized the occasion to thank the partner agencies, the Rentmeester Foundation of Netherlands and the Line ministries, just as he advised the beneficiaries to effectively utilise the support programme.
Speaking at the occasion,the Medical Director of National Fistular Centre , Prof.Sunday Adeoye urged the Local Government Chairpersons and Development Centre Chairpersons to assist her Excellency in bringing women that have proplase problem for repairs at the Centre.
